Mail is on hold, we're packed and ready to go!!

Well, finally!

This has been so long in coming that it's nearly a weird little letdown!!  We're all very excited to start our cruise but the anticipation has been a very enjoyable lead in to the vacation!

Stopped the mail, cleaned the fridge and all that's left to do is to try and get a full night's sleep.....yea, right!

Del is "at the shops" and getting her pre-cruise pedicure.  That girl can spend hours in Walgreen's so you know that TJMaxx is getting a great workout!

I checked the 10 day forecast for Alaska and, with any luck, it looks like all the days we're in those waters and at our ports, the weather will be clear, sunny and temps in the upper 60's!  How's that for perfect!!

I also just checked the location of our "ride" and she is heading down the left coast and looks like she is just off the Washington-Oregon border.  

Yesterday, Del and I had a "bowel loosening" moment when she realized that she could not find her passport.  The last time she saw it was on Monday when she came through the US Immigration point in the airport.  She came to me, white-faced, after she had ransacked her room in a fruitless search.  OMG!  Now what???

Rather than adding to the major freakout, I started thinking of "what the heck do we do now?"  I started to go through her things, once again, to make sure she didn't overlook it. All the while I am thinking that we were going to spend today in the New Zealand Embassy arranging a new passport!  After going through everything once I backtracked and noticed that her purse/bag had a rip inside and when I looked.....TADA!.....the passport!!!  What a relief!!  Poor thing was nearly catatonic with dread and I felt the same!  All is well and documents are safe....whew!

Our transport service called to confirm today and we are getting a 31 passenger bus!!  Plenty of room for everyone and their luggage.  They will be here in Brentwood at 9:30 then it's off to Clayton to pick up the next 10!  Last stop will be the St Francis Hotel in the city to pick up the last 5 and then to the pier.  We should be there about 11:30!
