Woke up early this morning and the seas were pretty flat and
the sun came out to greet us!
Early breakfast and then off to trivia where we didn’t
embarrass ourselves but didn’t distinguish either!! We decided that we are overthinking our answers
and making things more complicated! We
took our own advice and tied for first in the afternoon session!! We did, however, lose the tiebreaker and came
away without the wonderful prizes…carabiners!
Oh, well. There’s always next
time!
Everyone spread out today and I think there was a
Christiansen at every activity offered on the ship!! Riley had a strike in bowling in the
atrium! The Commodore went shopping for
bracelets for our granddaughters.
Theresa, Kendall and Sydney went to Zumba. Quite frankly, I had a hard time keeping up
with everyone’s activities! The kids did
get some pool and hot tub time today so they were quite happy about that. Brian, Amy and I attended the art auction
this afternoon but sat on our hands!
Brian and Jim participated in a poker tournament (both were booted!) and
Brian made a run in the blackjack tournament.
Kevin won some money playing the quarter slots so he was quite pleased!
We found Del’s hideout today but don’t tell her we
know! She found a lovely covered area on
the top deck where she reads and naps!
Maybe we will all surprise her tomorrow!! Shhhhhhhh!!
Dinner was more casual this evening and many of us had our
meal in the pizzeria. Yum! The dining room dinners are nice but the kids
are all too anxious to get up and go and are not fond of the long dinners.
In the “seen everything” department: having breakfast this morning when a guy in a
towel and flipflops walks through the dining area carrying his dripping bathing
suit! OMG! Yuck.
This evening we went to the nightclub on deck 15 for “Family
Disco Night” and had a wonderful time.
Believe it or not, we were all out on the dance floor and had a
blast! Our four year old Mason even got
down on the floor to “break dance”!!
What a lot of laughs!
Tomorrow we are in Ketchikan from about 7am till 2:30
pm. We have plans to just explore the
town and some are taking a “duck” tour.
There’s a slight chance of rain, which I hope we can avoid!
XOXOXOXOXO

Sounds like a great time with a great family. We are thinking about you all here in balmy Iceland. The rain and cool days have been replaced by blue skies and temps in the high 60s. REI trip is over, and the six of us are on our own for the next week. Soaked in the Blue Lagoon this morning.
ReplyDeleteHappy sailing! XOXO. C and D
